Aftercare Services

For commercial and municipal projects, we offer custom aftercare packages upon request—including watering schedules, maintenance visits, and follow-up overseeding if needed.

For residential customers, we do not provide ongoing aftercare—but we’ve got you covered with a clear, easy-to-follow Aftercare Guide below.

Residential Hydroseeding Aftercare Guide

Your lawn is only as good as the care it receives after hydroseeding. Follow these simple steps to ensure healthy, even growth:

1. Watering Schedule (Most Important!)

Days 1–14:

• Lightly water 2–3 times per day, keeping the surface moist but not soaked.

• Focus on keeping the hydroseeded layer consistently damp.

Days 15–28:

• Water once daily (early morning is best).

• Begin tapering back as the grass starts to take root.

After 4 weeks:

• Water deeply 2–3 times a week, depending on rainfall and heat.

• Deep watering encourages stronger, deeper root systems.

2. Mowing

• First mow when grass reaches 3–4 inches tall (usually around 4–6 weeks).

• Make sure the ground is dry before mowing.

• Use sharp blades and never cut more than ⅓ of the grass height at once.

3. Fertilizing

• Apply a starter fertilizer 4–6 weeks after hydroseeding.

• Choose a balanced mix like 16-16-16 or ask us for local recommendations.

• Continue feeding every 6–8 weeks through the growing season for best results.

4. Foot & Pet Traffic

• Avoid walking on the lawn for the first 3–4 weeks.

• Keep pets off the area during early growth to prevent seed displacement.

5. Weed Growth

• Some weeds may appear—it’s normal.

Do not apply weed killer until at least 6–8 weeks after seeding.

• Once the grass is established, you can treat weeds selectively if needed.

6. Be Patient

• Germination time depends on seed type, weather, and watering.

• Full lawn establishment typically takes 6–12 weeks.

• Your lawn will continue to thicken over the next few months with good care.
